Acting South Korean President Han Duck-soo insisted on Friday that South Korea will not allow a "single gap" in its security despite the ongoing turmoil in the country that saw President Yoon Suk-yeol impeached by the parliament after imposing martial law. Han said Seoul will maintain a "watertight readiness posture through the ironclad South Korea-US alliance."
Han also said South Korea will "do our best to prepare" for the second Trump administration next year. "Our government will establish trust with the US, trilaterally with the U.S. and Japan, and with many friendly nations," he said, according to the Yonhap news agency.
