Nvidia Corporation wants to rebuild its presence in China and launch a new AI-based chip designed specifically for the Chinese market as early as September, the Financial Times (FT) reported on Wednesday.
The tech giant's CEO Jensen Huang is seeking to meet with high-ranking Chinese officials to facilitate ties and improve the company's position in that country. According to the report, the new chip will utilize Nvidia's RTX Pro 6000 processor, but will exclude most advanced technologies. The solution was devised to comply with Washington's chip export restrictions, sources with knowledge of the plans said.
Meanwhile, Nvidia did not comment on the report.
