The IDF claims to be looking into the lethal attack that occurred today close to a water delivery point in central Gaza, which it claims was caused by a "technical malfunction" when an operative from the terror organization Palestinian Islamic Jihad was being targeted.

"Earlier today a strike was carried out targeting a terrorist operative from the Islamic Jihad organization in the central Gaza Strip. Due to a technical malfunction in the munition, it struck dozens of meters away from the intended target," the IDF said.

At least 10 people were reported killed in the strike, many of them children.
