The United States House of Representatives Freedom Caucus, consisting of conservative Republicans, identified major issues with the spending bill passed by the Senate yesterday, according to a memorandum obtained by Punchbowl News on Wednesday.

According to the document, some of the problems include a significant increase in the budget deficit and watering down the repeal of former President Joe Biden's environmental policies, referred to as the "Green New Scam." Some of the lawmakers were also concerned that the text of the legislation does not propose further tightening restrictions on Medicaid payments to illegal immigrants.

Meanwhile, it was reported that US President Donald Trump approached GOP dissidents in private to persuade them to support the bill. The administration aims to pass the landmark legislation before July 4th, with a vote potentially happening as early as today.
