Tether considers US-only stablecoin amid regulatory talks
Tether's CEO, Paolo Ardoino, stated in an interview with the Financial Times published on Monday that the company is considering a US-only stablecoin.
According to Ardoino, Tether is in talks with the Trump administration, which sees the stablecoin ecosystem as "an important instrument for the United States."
He stated that, depending on the outcome, Tether may create a token specifically for the US market. Currently, there are $144 billion worth of Tether tokens in circulation, but the company does not accept customers from the US.
