White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stressed on Thursday that what is currently happening in the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon is "intolerable" and insisted the United States does not want to see women and children killed.

Jean-Pierre once again insisted the US wants to see a temporary ceasefire because the current attacks "cannot continue" as they are "not good" neither for Israel nor for Lebanon.

Earlier, Israel announced it would receive a military aid package worth $8.7 billion from the US, while US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin stressed the importance of convincing Israel to pursue diplomacy but insisted Washington's commitment to providing all necessary assistance to Israel would not change.
