US Treasury yields climb ahead of inflation data

Yields on the United States Treasury bonds soared on Tuesday as investors awaited tomorrow's report on the country's consumer inflation in October which is expected to determine the Federal Reserve's monetary policy in the months ahead.

Republican Donald Trump's presidential win further propelled yields on the US government bonds.

The yield on the two-year note rose 9.0 basis points to 4.342% at 1:44 pm ET. At the same time, the return on the 10-year Treasury note jumped 12.3 basis points to 4.431%, while the yield on the 30-year bond went up by 10.1 basis points to 4.580% a minute later.
