Trump, Oman's leader discuss Iran talks
United States President Donald Trump held a phone call with Oman's Sultan and Prime Minister Haitham bin Tariq Al Said to discuss nuclear negotiations with Iran, Oman's state news agency reported on Tuesday.
The two leaders exchanged views on how to support the talks in order to ensure constructive results, according to the news outlet. Trump also praised Oman's diplomatic role in Saturday's talks between the US and Iran.
Oman hosted and mediated the first round of negotiations between Washington and Tehran that took place on April 12. Iranian officials confirmed that the second round, scheduled for Saturday, April 19, will also be held in Oman after media reports suggested it could instead take place in Italy.
