The Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF) and the United States Air Force (USAF) in South Korea pledged on Thursday to boost their readiness against North Korea's potential provocations.

According to the former department's statement, the commitment was declared by USAF Chief of Staff General David W. Allvin and his ROKAF counterpart General Lee Young-su at the latter's office in Gyeryong. "North Korea ... is undermining stability on the Korean Peninsula and the Indo-Pacific region by blowing up inter-Korean roads and railways using the drones over Pyongyang as a pretext," the ROKAF's statement read.

The news came after North Korea reportedly changed its constitution to designate South Korea as a "hostile state."
