Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said on Thursday that the administration of United States President Donald Trump is "contradictory" in its deeds and remarks.

"The Trump administration is very contradictory in its actions and statements. This does not simplify the work. Nevertheless, we are persistently, consistently pursuing a course to move towards the normalization of our relations," Ryabkov told reporters.

He also stated that Russia can withstand new sanctions and "knows how to resist them," adding that threats of new restrictions have become a "commonplace" for Moscow.
