Russian President Vladimir Putin's foreign policy aide Yuri Ushakov said on Monday that the upcoming talks between Russian and American delegations in Saudi Arabia will focus on the possible outline of a peace process between Russia and Ukraine. He said the two teams will try to reach an agreement on how to start peace talks.

In addition to Ushakov, the meeting will be attended by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, as well as US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, national security adviser Mike Waltz and Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff. However, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stressed Kiev would not accept the results of any negotiations without its presence.
