Russian Foreign Ministry did not directly comment or refute the claim that billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk applied for political asylum in the country, Tass reported on Friday.

Previously, Deputy Speaker of the State Duma Vladislav Davankov said Musk requested asylum from Moscow.

Responding to the allegation, the source stressed that Davankov "does not work in the Foreign Ministry." The tech mogul's father, Errol, later told Izvestia he didn't think Musk asked for asylum in Russia.
