Nvidia's China chip restart said to be slowed by US rules
Nvidia Corporation warned Chinese buyers that its supply of H20 AI chips remains tight, The Information reported on Saturday, citing sources familiar with the matter.
The chipmaker reportedly hopes to restart sales but must first secure US government licenses. According to the report, Nvidia halted prior customer orders and relinquished manufacturing slots at Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (TSMC) following an April policy shift.
The report also said the company has no current plan to resume production, adding that it is developing a new chip for China that complies with US export restrictions.
