The International Criminal Court (ICC) condemned on Friday a new US executive order imposing sanctions on its officials, calling it an attack on the court's independence.

The ICC reaffirmed its commitment to justice and urged its 125 member states and the global community to stand against the measure.

"The Court stands firmly by its personnel and pledges to continue providing justice and hope to millions of innocent victims," the statement read.
