Two members of the Democratic Party, who are on the United States House Judiciary Committee, are starting an investigation into the Department of Justice's (DoJ) motion for charges against New York City Mayor Eric Adams to be dropped, Politico reported on Monday, citing a letter.

"Last month, troubling reports emerged about the Trump Administration's demand that federal prosecutors move to dismiss the serious public corruption charges against New York City Mayor Eric Adams as part of a blatant and illegal quid pro quo to secure the Mayor's loyal assistance in executing the Trump Administration's mass arrest and deportation policies," representatives Jamie Raskin of Maryland and Jasmine Crockett of Texas wrote in the letter.

Adams, who is also a Democrat, was charged in September 2024, with the case against him yet to be thrown out.
