Eurozone's GDP growth in Q1 revised up to 0.6%

The Eurozone's gross domestic product (GDP) observed a quarterly growth of 0.6% in the first trimester of 2025, the European Commission's statistical office Eurostat announced in its third estimate published on Friday. In the previous two reports, the figures were at 0.4% and 0.3%. Meanwhile, the European Union's economy was documented as having expanded by 0.6%, another upward revision from 0.3% registered in both the first and second estimates.

Year-on-year, the Eurozone's GDP increased by 1.5% and the EU's by 1.6%. Among the members, the highest annual rises were seen in Ireland at 21.1%, Poland at 3.7%, and Denmark at 3.6%. The sharpest declines were noted in Slovenia at 0.8%, and Austria, Hungary, and Luxembourg at 0.4%.

Compared to the previous quarter, the number of employed people went up by 0.2% in the euro area and remained stable in the EU. On an annual basis, the figure grew by 0.7% in the Eurozone and 0.4% in the EU.
