SCHMOLZ + BICKENBACH Group is one of the world’s leading providers of customised solutions in the special long steel products business. The company produces high-grade steel in Europe and North America. SCHMOLZ + BICKENBACH’s corporate concept comprising the business units: production, Sales & Services and Ascometal. The company manufactures alloy and high-alloy engineering steel at own steel mills, which can be then treated at their own processing plants. In March 2015 SCHMOLZ + BICKENBACH sells its specific distribution units in Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and Austria to JACQUET METAL SERVICE. The affected distribution units belonged to the Sales & Services division, follow a diverging business model and focus on selling third party products. Therefore the future focus of the Group lies on sales of own-mill products. SCHMOLZ + BICKENBACH, founded in Düsseldorf by Arthur Schmolz and Oswald Bickenbach in 1919, is headquartered at Luzern in Switzerland and Düsseldorf in Germany.
