Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Monday that he had a "productive conversation" with United States Special Presidential Envoy for Russia and Ukraine Keith Kellogg, where they talked about boosting Ukraine's security and providing Kiev with more weapons.

"We discussed the path to peace and what we can practically do together to bring it closer. This includes strengthening Ukraine's air defense, joint production, and procurement of defense weapons in collaboration with Europe. And of course, sanctions against Russia and those who help it. We hope for US leadership, as it is clear that Moscow will not stop unless its unreasonable ambitions are curbed through strength," Zelensky said in a post on X.

Meanwhile, an air raid alert was declared in Kiev shortly after the two officials met, followed by air raid sirens sounding in Kharkiv, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, Kirovograd, Odessa, Cherkasy, and Nikolaev.
