United States Special Envoy Steve Witkoff's new proposal for the ceasefire in Gaza promises that US President Donald Trump will offer his support in the process of negotiations on a permanent end to the war between Israel and Hamas, but also that he will be the one to announce the ceasefire agreement, CNN reported on Friday, claiming to have viewed the proposal.

According to the report, the proposal outlined that Hamas would release ten Israeli hostages along with the bodies of 18 deceased hostages, in return for 125 Palestinian prisoners serving life sentences and 1,111 Gazans who have been detained since the start of the war. The US, Egypt, and Qatar would reportedly guarantee the ceasefire agreement, while Trump would be the one to "personally announce" the deal has been made.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reportedly already accepted the proposal, while Hamas stated that it was still discussing the proposal with other Palestinian factions.
