The United States Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) announced sanctions on Wednesday targeting two Iranian entities and two individuals linked to developing advanced navigational systems for military use. The sanctions focus on the Sanat Danesh Rahpuyan Aflak Company (SDRA), which produces navigation systems for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and missiles, and its executives, Mohammad Abedininajafabadi and Kaveh Merat.

SDRA reportedly supplied over 1,000 SEPEHR navigation systems to the IRGC Aerospace Force Self-Sufficiency Jihad Organization (IRGC ASF SSJO) between 2022 and 2023, strengthening Iran’s UAV and missile production. A Switzerland-based affiliate, Illumove SA, was also sanctioned for facilitating SDRA’’s global procurement activities.

"Iran continues to try to acquire these critical components covertly to facilitate the production of its ballistic missile and UAV weapon systems," Acting Under Secretary of the Treasury for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence Bradley Smith mentioned
