US opens mostly flat as Fed rate decision looms
Wall Street stock equities opened Wednesday's trading session mostly flat as investors prepared for the Federal Reserve's interest rate decision later today. The central bank is expected to keep the interest rate unchanged again amid uncertainty regarding tariffs and broader geopolitical risks.
Meanwhile, Israel and Iran continued to exchange strikes, further highlighting fears of a wider war in the region. In addition, markets kept a watchful eye on the possibility of the United States intervening on the side of Israel, in light of President Donald Trump's recent statement, urging Tehran to surrender unconditionally.
The Dow Jones and the S&P 500 were flat while the Nasdaq 100 added 0.2% after Marvell Technology soared 6.22%.
At 9:28 am ET, the euro went up 0.17% against the dollar to go for 1.15001.
