US initial jobless claims down by 10,000 to 236,000
Initial jobless claims in the United States declined by 10,000 compared to the previous week's revised figure to 236,000 in the week ending June 21, the Department of Labor said in its report published on Thursday. The 4-week moving average decreased by 750 from the previous week's revised average to 245,000.
The advance seasonally adjusted insured unemployment rate for the week ending June 14 stood at 1.3%, the same as in the previous seven days. The advance number for seasonally adjusted insured unemployment rose by 37,000 to 1,974,000. The 4-week moving average increased by 16,750 to 1,941,000, the highest level since November 20, 2021.
