The United States Senate approved on Saturday a stopgap bill to fund the government until March 25. The legislation was previously adopted by the House of Representatives.
The Senate voted on the bill less than an hour after the midnight deadline (local time), technically leading to a brief government shutdown. 85 senators voted in favor of the stopgap with 11 against. The bill will also have to be signed by President Joe Biden, who has already indicated his approval.
