Palestinian prisoners to be released today after mediators follow-up
Palestinian prisoners will potentially be released today at 5:00 pm local time after the follow-up with the mediators, Israeli Army Radio reported on Thursday.
The prisoners are said to have remained on the buses but were reportedly not returned to the Ofer prison. According to the report, the Israeli security services are preparing the prisoners for a possible release on the instructions "of the political level." Meanwhile, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported that its crew was tending to a dozen people injured by the Israeli forces in the city of Beitunia in the central West Bank, near the Ofer Prison.
Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's spokesperson, Omer Dostri, revealed that the release of the Palestinian prisoners was suspended due to the chaotic circumstances that surrounded the release of the Israeli hostages by Hamas earlier in the day.
