Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned the attack by Israeli settlers on the country's soldiers in the West Bank, but insisted they only marked a "small minority" and did not represent all settlers.

"I strongly condemn the acts of rioting that occurred in the Binyamin area, in which IDF soldiers were attacked," Netnayahu stated. "These people are a small minority who do not represent the absolute majority of settlers, who are law-abiding and serve in the IDF [Israel Defense Forces] and security forces," he added.

Earlier, a group of settlers attacked Israeli soldiers who were sent to the West Bank after a settler attack on Palestinians in the area.
