Brazilian President Luis Inacio Lula da Silva told Record TV on Thursday that he will try to find a negotiated solution to the trade dispute with the United States, adding that if no other solution is reached, reciprocal measures could be taken against Washington.

In an interview recorded earlier today, Lula revealed that his country will appeal to the World Trade Organization (WTO) against Washington's latest move.

On Wednesday, US President Donald Trump imposed a 50% duty on Brazilian exports, citing the ongoing court case against Lula's predecessor in office and trade imbalance for his decision.
