Japan's industrial output up by 0.2% in March

The seasonally adjusted industrial production index in Japan observed a monthly increase of 0.2% to land at 102.4 in March. Compared to the same month in 2024, the figure increased by 1%, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) said in its revised report published on Friday.

The shipments index declined by 1.8% month-on-month to hit 99.7 and decreased by 0.3% year-on-year. The inventories index came in at 102.1, increasing by 1.2% compared to the previous month and reducing by 0.7% compared to March 2024.

The inventory ratio stood at 107.3, down by 4.4% on a monthly level and increasing by 0.6% on an annual one.
