Fed's Beige Book: Economic activity declined slightly
The United States Federal Reserve revealed on Wednesday in its June Beige Book that the economic activity "declined slightly" across the twelve Districts compared to the last report in April.
Half of the districts saw "slight to moderate" growth, three described "no change," and three reported "slight growth." All districts indicated that economic and policy uncertainty remained high. Talking about the labor markets, the Fed noted that employment was "flat" in most districts, "slight-to-modest" increased in three districts, while two districts saw "slight" falls.
Additionally, the Fed noted that prices increased "at a moderate pace" across districts, with few districts expecting "strong, significant, or substantial" hikes.
