An alarm sounded shortly after midnight, local time in Ukraine's capital Kiev, signaling an air raid as explosions were heard, Obshchestvennoye Novosti reported.

According to official information, an air threat warning was also declared in the Khmelnytski region. Furthermore, TSN reported that an explosion was heard in the Chernihiv region of the country.

Alerts are also in place in Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Sumy, Kharkiv, Poltava and Chernihiv.
