Eurozone consumer confidence falls in April
Consumer confidence in the euro area continued to decline in April, worsening compared to last month's data, the European Commission announced in its report on Tuesday, confirming the preliminary figures announced earlier this month. The figure decreased by 2.2 points month-over-month, falling to negative 16.7 points.
In the European Union, the consumer confidence index slumped 2.1 points compared to the month prior, landing at a negative 16.
At the same time, the economic sentiment indicator dropped by 1.4 points in the euro area to reach 93.6. The figure also saw a decrease of 1.4 points in the EU, to stand at 94.4.
