Europe opens higher amid fresh batch of data

Major European stock indexes started Friday's trading session with gains as investors assessed fresh reports on Swiss inflation and retail sales, as well as the United Kingdom's housing market. Additionally, the latest data on British manufacturing sector activity is set for release after the opening bell.

The DAX added 0.07% at open, as Siemens Energy AG increased by 0.64%. The FTSE gained 0.18%, with Schroders plc surging by 2.50%. The Euro Stoxx 50 improved by 0.13%, and Prosus NV rose by 1.82%. The CAC 40 advanced by 0.17%, as Societe Generale SA climbed by 2.16%.

The euro lost 0.13% against the dollar to sell for $1.08691 at 7:58 am CET. At the same time, the pound traded flat compared to the greenback, going for $1.28990.
