Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in a statement issued by his office on Thursday that his country is ready to host another round of peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine when they are ready.

The statement came after Erdogan met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Ankara and ahead of Kiev's peace talks with Russia in Istanbul.

Meanwhile, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan spoke to the press during the North Atlantic Treaty Organization's (NATO) summit in Antalya that both Russia and Ukraine "have declared that they agree to the idea of ​​a ceasefire in principle."
