Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Monday that the cost of destruction in the Gaza Strip following the Israel-Hamas war was estimated at $100 billion, stressing that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should look for financial sources to cover the damage caused in the enclave.

"Israeli administration must first be charged for the destruction they have caused and with this, reconstruction process in Gaza should be started," Erdogan stated during his visit to Malaysia.

Furthermore, the Turkish head of state insisted that no one has the right to inflict "the second Nakba," the term used for the mass displacement and dispossession of Palestinians during the 1948 Arab-Israeli war, on the Palestinian people after United States President Donald Trump reaffirmed his idea of displacing Palestinians from Gaza to turn the enclave into the “Riviera” of the Middle East.
