Duda discusses security, defense in call with Trump
Outgoing Polish President Andrzej Duda announced via X he held a telephone conversation with his United States counterpart Donald Trump on Friday.
The two presidents discussed security ahead of the Bucharest 9 Summit in Vilnius and the NATO Summit in the Hague at the end of this month. Duda and Trump also talked about NATO member states increasing defense spending.
"I assured President Trump that [Karol Nawrocki's] victory in the Polish elections provides a guarantee of continuity of the country's policy in its key dimensions - especially in terms of the continuation of the excellent transatlantic relations and Poland's close cooperation with the United States, both institutionally and personally with President Trump," the Polish president concluded.
