Asia mostly higher ahead of data
Asia-Pacific markets traded mostly higher on Monday ahead of Chinese trade and Japanese industrial output data due later in the day. Additionally, investors assessed United States President Donald Trump's 30% tariffs on the European Union and Mexico, set to take effect on August 1.
Australia's S&P/ASX 200 added 0.07% at 4:01 am CET. South Korea's Kospi Composite gained 0.21% a minute later. Hong Kong's Hang Seng went up by 0.19% at 4:02 am CET, while, on the Chinese mainland, the Shanghai Composite increased by 0.34% and the Shenzhen Composite increased by 0.09%. Japan's Nikkei 225 was down 0.38% at 4:03 am CET.
The dollar traded 0.20% lower against the yen, going for ¥147.1360 at 4:04 am CET.
