Apple Inc. told the Associated Press on Friday that it asked Epic Games Inc.'s Swedish branch to resubmit the updated version of Fortnite "without including" the United States storefront of the App Store "so as not to impact Fortnite in other geographies."

In a statement to the publication, Apple added that it "did not take any action to remove the live version of Fortnite from alternative distribution marketplaces."

The tech giant's comments came after Apple blocked Fortnite on the App Store in the US and the Epic store in the European Union following a five-year antitrust feud between the two companies.
