US opens mostly lower with data in focus

Major stock indexes in the United States traded mostly with losses at the start of Tuesday's session as investors awaited fresh reports on manufacturing and construction sector activity, and the latest data on the job market, scheduled for release after the opening bell. In business, Nike, Inc. is set to publish its first-quarter financial results after the markets close.
The Dow Jones fell by 0.16% or 76 points at 9:30 am ET, with Apple Inc. declining by 1.87% At the same time, the S&P 500 dropped by 0.13%, with Amentum Holdings Inc. plummeting by 12.06%. The Nasdaq 100 traded flat at the open.
The euro lost 0.50% compared to the dollar at 9:28 am ET, selling for $1.10793.
