Job openings in the United States were little changed in October in comparison to the previous month, standing at 7.7 million and higher than the 7.5 million expected, a report from the country's Bureau of Labor Statistics showed on Tuesday.

The Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTS) showed that the number of hires came in at 5.3 million, little changed, with the rate of hires running at 3.3%.

The separation rate remained the same at 3.3% in October compared to September, while the total separations number was at 5.3 million. The quits rate was little changed at 2.1%, with the number of quits being at 3.3 million.
