Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on Friday held a meeting with senior Hamas officials and expressed his condolences over the death of the Palestinian group's political leader Yahya Sinwar, Turkey's Foreign Ministry revealed in a statement.

During the talks with Hamas officials, Fidan stressed that Turkey "use all diplomatic means to mobilize the international community against the humanitarian catastrophe" in the Gaza Strip.

Previously, the Turkish top diplomat warned that there is a high risk of a war breaking out between Israel and Iran after Israel confirmed that its forces killed the head of Iran-backed Hamas.
