Trump suggests 15% cap on foreign Harvard students
United States President Donald Trump delivered a scathing critique of Harvard University on Wednesday, accusing the Ivy League institution, as well as other colleges in the country, of fostering antisemitic sentiment and mismanaging foreign student admissions.
According to Trump, the university has taken more than $5 billion in funding, but problems with the student body still persist, as well as the university's opposition towards his administration. "Every time they fight, they [Harvard] lose $250 million," the leader explained, accusing the institution of admitting many "troublemakers" from "radicalized" areas. "They should have a cap of 15% for foreign students," Trump said, noting that non-American students make up about 31% of total enrollment.
He went on to underscore that many US citizens are not able to get into Harvard owing to the current number of foreign admissions.
