United States President Donald Trump said to reporters that he was "not at all" concerned about the recent firings and swift rehirings of federal employees working for the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), which manages the US nuclear weapons.

"No, not at all, I think we have to just do what we have to do,” Trump said, adding that "in some cases" some of the fired people would be rehired "not all of them, because a lot of people were let go."

All but 25 of the NNSA employees were reinstated after several members of Congress, citing dire national security implications, petitioned Energy Secretary Chris Wright to reverse course.
