Trump allegedly hosted Pfizer, Eli Lilly execs at Mar-a-Lago
United States President-elect Donald Trump hosted Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla, Eli Lilly CEO David Ricks, and Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) CEO Steve Ubl at Mar-a-Lago on Wednesday night, according to Axios on Thursday. The dinner allegedly focused on how the public and private sectors can work together on initiatives like cancer research.
The meeting is seen as an indication of how Trump's administration may see the pharmaceutical industry as an ally in moving forward parts of his agenda, rather than an opponent. The gathering included a pre-dinner reception and lasted nearly three hours.
Representatives from Lilly, Pfizer, and PhRMA declined to comment on the event, the media said.
