United States President Donald Trump said on Friday that it is "unclear" how much of Iran's nuclear program is left after the Israeli strikes on Tehran.

"I tried to save Iran from humiliation and death. I tried to save them very hard because I would have loved to have seen a deal worked out. They can still work out a deal, however, it's not too late," Trump told Reuters, noting that although Iran sustained a "devastating" hit, he does not believe it will lead to a regional war in the Middle East.

The US president also confirmed that his country "knew everything" about Israel's attack, echoing the statement by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
