TikTok said on Sunday that it would restore its service in the United States after President-elect Donald Trump gave the necessary guarantees to the company's service providers.

"In agreement with our service providers, TikTok is in the process of restoring service," the company said in a statement. "We thank President Trump for providing the necessary clarity and assurance to our service providers that they will face no penalties providing TikTok to over 170 million Americans and allowing over 7 million small businesses to thrive," it added.

Finally, TikTok pledged to cooperate with Trump to achieve "a long-term solution" that allows the social media app to stay in the US.
