Tesla launches new Model Y version in US, Canada, Europe
Tesla Inc. has launched a new Model Y version in the United States, Canada and Europe with deliveries to begin in March, the company's website showed.
The starting price of this new "Launch Series" special edition, which is a long-range all-wheel drive variant, will cost $59,990 in the US. The model, launched first in China two weeks ago, includes Tesla's "Full Self-Driving (Supervised)" driver-assistance software. This was typically an optional upgrade with a price tag of $8,000 in previous Model Y cars. The new model has a 320-mile (about 515 km) range battery.
Looking at the older Model Y, it starts at $44,990 for a rear wheel drive version.
