Standard Chartered Bank CEO Bill Winters (pictured) said on Tuesday that world trade will see "interesting ructions" as United States President Donald Trump's administration settles in.

"We'll see what comes through in terms of tariffs and reconciliation. We know China is a very big part of that in terms of having a gigantic export surplus, and that will be under attack from all parts of the world," Winters commented during a World Economic Forum panel session.

He mentioned that while globalization is not going in reverse, it is "changing its nature very fundamentally." The Standard Chartered CEO believes that trade volumes "are going up and continue to go up."
