Spanish inflation down from 2.3% to 2.2% in April

The annual inflation rate in Spain came in at 2.2% in April, down from 2.3% posted in March and slightly higher than expected, the country's National Statistics Institute (INE) said in its preliminary report published on Tuesday. Month-on-month, the figure increased by 0.6%.

The core inflation rate grew by 2.4% on a yearly level and 2.4% on a monthly one.

The Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) remained at 2.2% compared to April 2024 and rose by 0.6% over the month.
