Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez is set to visit Beijing in April, where he will meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping, marking the 20th anniversary of the collaboration agreement between the two nations, according to multiple media reports on Thursday.
Last month, Spain's Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares stated that the European Union should look to forge its own China policy, independent of the United States' stance, and decide when the Asian country can be a partner and when a competitor. As part of his tour, Sanchez will also travel to Vietnam looking to strengthen Madrid's diplomatic and economic ties in the region.
