One of the two candidates in the ongoing Romanian presidential election, George Simion (pictured left), and the winner of the first round of the canceled process in 2024, Calin Georgescu (pictured right), were escorted out of their polling place on Sunday as they tried to make a statement to the media.

The two voted together at a polling place in Mogosoaia. After they completed the procedure, they tried to talk to the media, but the police escorted them out, noting that they could do so outside but not inside the premises.

Simion has widely been considered the favorite to win the runoff against independent candidate Nicusor Dan.
