Rheinmetall, Anduril to build military drones for Europe
German Rheinmetall AG and United States-based Anduril Industries Inc. announced on Wednesday their collaboration on defense systems for Europe.
Both companies stated that the partnership will initially be focused on the development of three elements and will be extended to more areas over time. The collaboration includes integration of European variants of Anduril's Baracuda and Fury aerial drones into Rheinmetall's digital sovereignty framework, as well as exploration of solid rocket motors.
"By integrating Anduril's solutions into Rheinmetall's European production set up and digital sovereignty framework, we're building on that foundation to bring new kinds of autonomous capabilities into service, ones that are quick to produce, modular, and aligned with NATO's evolving requirements," CEO of Rheinmetall Armin Papperger said.
